Touch Chesi Chudu First Day Collections

Mass maharaja Ravi Teja's comeback to masala entertainers with 'Touch Chesi Chudu', hasn't exactly set the box office on fire. The action entertainer that released this Friday, took a below par opening at worldwide box office.

On its opening day, TCC collected a distributor share of 4.18 Cr (with a gross of 6.7 Cr) across the Telugu States. This is the 5th biggest opening for a Ravi Teja starrer behind Kick 2 (5.7cr), Bengal Tiger (5.3cr), Raja the Great (5.05cr) & Power (4.9cr).

In US, the film raked in $127K so far - $81K from Thursday premieres and $46K on Friday. The dip in collections can be accredited to the below par word of mouth. Young hero Naga Shaurya's "Chalo", which released on the same day, fared much better in comparison - $93K from premieres and $126K on Friday.

Area wise break up of share of TCC:

Nizam - 1.56 Cr

Ceded - 0.48 Cr

Nellore - 0.20 Cr

Guntur - 0.47 Cr

Krishna - 0.22 Cr

West - 0.30 Cr

East - 0.45 Cr

Uttharandhra - 0.48 Cr

Total 1 st day AP & TS Share - 4.16 Cr (Gross - 6.7 Cr)

Total 1st day Worldwide Share -  5.2 Cr (Gross - 8.4 Cr)

This is a very ordinary start for a Ravi Teja movie. The film needs to withstand poor talk and competition from Chalo and still-strong Bhaagamathie at box office to land buyers in safe zone. The first weekend is very crucial.
