Baahubali actor Madhu Prakash arrested in dowry death case
TV actor Madhu Prakash returned home on Tuesday night to the sad news of his wife Bharati having committed suicide. The couple was residing in Panchavati colony in Hyderabad and Bharati worked with a private firm. An ANI report quoted Ravinder, Circle Inspector, Raidurgam police station as saying, “Tuesday evening Bharati (34) had committed suicide by hanging herself to death at her residence. Upon receiving the information, we reached the spot and shifted the body to the hospital for autopsy.”

While Madhu informed the Rayadurgam police about the incident and recorded his statement, it has now been revealed that a case has been filed again him for alleged involvement in Bharati’s suicide. The report further stated that Bharati’s father has filed a complaint against Madhu Prakash, alleging that he used to harass her for dowry. According to Ravinder, in his statement to the police, Bharati’s father has mentioned, “Madhu Prakash used to harass Bharati for dowry and he had even beaten her up which abetted her to commit suicide.” A case under Section 304B (dowry death) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Madhu Prakash. “We have nabbed the accused Madhu Prakash and he will be sent to judicial remand on Thursday," the police stated in the report.

Prakash is a popular TV actor and had also played a character artist role in S Rajamouli’s Baahubali. Earlier reports suggested that Bharati was upset with Prakash's profession, who often returned home late due to work commitments and the couple would have frequent fights over it. On Tuesday Bharati had called Prakash to return home and even threatened to end her life, but the TV actor had ignored her. When Prakash returned at 7:30 pm, he found his wife hanging from a ceiling fan.
