George Reddy is a film that has generated a good buzz from the last few days. The film has special premieres one day before its release and here is the detailed review of the film.

Story:

George Reddy(Sandy) joins the Osmania University for his higher studies. There he comes across many problems that the students are facing. He keeps quiet for a while but revolts after a particular incident. Seeing his courage, many in the college support him and very soon, George becomes a hero in the college. He starts fighting for the rights of the students and in this situation, develops a lot of enemies. How did George Reddy deal with all these serious problems? What happens to him in the end? To know the answers, you need to watch the film on a big screen.

Performances:
Sandeep Madhav's performance is decent as George Reddy. His demeanor, walk and dialogue delivery are impressive. His styling also is on point, but the character has been poorly etched due to the lack of imagination and character study. Muskaan is okay as the female lead who secretly admires him. Abhay got a meaty role as George's close aide and he delivered a noteworthy performance. The actor who played Lallan Singh is good. Manoj Nandan, Chaitanya Krishna and Satya Dev made their presence felt.

Plus Points:

Set Up, Production Design

BGM

Hero Sandy

Fights

Minus Points:
Simple second half

Predictable story

Technical Aspects:
Technically, the film is sound as credit should go to the art direction and production design department as they recreated the bygone era in a very good manner. As told earlier, BGM is amazing and life the film to another level. Dialogues are decent and so is the camerawork which showcases Osmania university in a splendid way. Editing is just about okay.

Coming to the director Jeevan Reddy, he makes an impressive debut. The subject he has chosen is decent and does justice to the role of George Reddy. But in order to make the film more commercialized and mainstream, his grip on the drama misses out in many areas. He got all the aesthetics on spot but could not handle the second half and climax well.

Verdict:

On the whole, George Reddy is a film that does not live up to all the great hype. That does not mean that the film is bad. The bygone era has bee re-created well and the performances are top-notch. The youth will like it as the fights and mass elements are good. But the second half is dull and has nothing going it’s way and ends the film on a dull note. So go with lesser expectations and watch the film with an open mind.
