Tamil actor Vijay, a beloved figure among his fans, has made a significant announcement today regarding his entry into politics. On February 2, ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Vijay unveiled his political venture, named Tamilaga Vetri Kazam.

Contrary to expectations, Vijay clarified in a statement that his party will not be participating in the upcoming 2024 elections, nor will it extend support to any other political party. The decision has been attributed to the need for ample time to organize a general and executive council meeting.

Vijay outlined the party's ambitious timeline, expressing the intent to actively participate in the 2026 elections. Following the requisite approvals from the Election Commission of India (ECI), the party aims to finalize its symbol, flag, ideologies, and policies. The period after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be dedicated to engaging with the public through meet-and-greet sessions, marking the official commencement of their political journey.
