An Indiana man was arrested on preliminary charges of attempting to sell an illegal still to Indiana State Excise Police officers.
Joseph M. Jepko, 40, Scipio, had posted an ad online for an illegal still that he described as "perfect for the family drunk that's so hard to buy for," said State Excise Police Cpl. Brandon Thomas. Excise officers responded to the ad, agreed to purchase the still, and set up a meeting with Jepko just outside the Indianapolis International Airport to make the buy.
Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jepko met with the person who he believed he was selling the still to, but the buyer was actually an undercover excise officer, Thomas said.
Police seized the illegal still, and issued Jepko a summons to appear in court on the charge of possession of unlicensed equipment for the production of alcoholic beverages.
