Dhurandhar Day 8 Collection: Ranveer Singh Starrer Surpasses Hrithik’s War 2

Ranveer Singh’s action thriller Dhurandhar continues to perform exceptionally well at the ticket counters. As reported by Sacnilk.com, the film has already crossed ?232 crore in overall earnings. Released in cinemas on December 5, the movie has shown consistent momentum and strong audience interest since day one.

Apart from Ranveer Singh in the lead, the film boasts a powerful ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, all playing crucial roles.

Dhurandhar India Box Office Performance

During its first week, Dhurandhar amassed an impressive ?207.25 crore in India. On its eighth day, the film reportedly collected ?32 crore nett, pushing its total domestic earnings to approximately ?239.25 crore.

With these figures, Dhurandhar has officially moved ahead of Hrithik Roshan’s War 2. According to Sacnilk, War 2 earned ?204.25 crore in its opening week and added only ?5 crore on day eight, placing it behind Ranveer Singh’s latest release.

The film has also surpassed the lifetime domestic collections of several major Bollywood titles, including Raid 2 (?173.05 crore), Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani (?153.55 crore), and Sikandar (?109.83 crore).

In its review, Hindustan Times praised the film’s performances, noting that they keep viewers engaged throughout the lengthy runtime. The review highlighted Ranveer Singh’s controlled and nuanced portrayal, describing it as unlike anything he has done before. His restrained performance, punctuated by moments of intense emotion, effectively captures the inner conflict of a spy torn between maintaining his disguise and witnessing his nation’s humiliation.

The review further stated that Dhurandhar shines as a character-driven narrative set against a vast espionage backdrop. While the storytelling is detailed and occasionally indulgent, the emotional depth and strong cast maintain audience interest. According to the review, trimming about thirty minutes could have elevated the film further, but even in its current form, it remains a solid and engaging watch.

About the Film Dhurandhar

Helmed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar centers on Hamza, an Indian intelligence officer who goes undercover in Pakistan and becomes involved with Rehman Dakait’s criminal network. The storyline draws inspiration from real-life incidents such as the 2001 Indian Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, offering a gripping perspective on the long-standing India–Pakistan conflict.

In addition to Ranveer Singh, the film features Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles. The makers have confirmed that the sequel to Dhurandhar is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19 next year.
