Dhurandhar Re-Release Details: 500 Screens Worldwide Before Sequel Launch

Ranveer Singh Dhurandhar re release

Ahead of the worldwide release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge on March 19, the makers have re-released the original film Dhurandhar across nearly 500 screens globally, generating renewed excitement among audiences.

The action drama, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, was originally released on December 5 and went on to become one of the highest-grossing films of the year. With the sequel set to hit theatres next week, the producers decided to bring the prequel back to cinemas to help audiences revisit the story.

The film was re-released in India on March 12 across around 250 screens, while another 250 screens have been allocated internationally starting Friday. Notably, the movie is being screened in 185 theatres across North America, marking a rare international re-release for a Hindi film.

According to the makers, the re-release will help viewers who missed the film earlier and allow existing fans to refresh the story before watching the sequel.

Re-releases of blockbuster films have increasingly become common in India, particularly ahead of sequels. However, large-scale international re-releases remain relatively uncommon for Hindi cinema.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for a global theatrical release on March 19. Ahead of its release, special premiere shows will be held on March 18 across the United States and Canada.

These premiere screenings will primarily take place on Premium Large Format (PLF) screens, featuring advanced cinematic technology such as Dolby Atmos sound systems, large-format screens, high-end projection technology, and luxury seating. Such formats are usually reserved for major Hollywood event films.

Distributors revealed that several of these mid-week premiere shows are already selling out in multiple locations, highlighting the strong anticipation surrounding the sequel.

Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, ensuring a wide reach across Indian and international markets.
