Though it's the sixth-highest Hindi opener of the year, the figure is modest given Aamir’s stardom, especially as regional films often earn Rs 10–20 crore on day one.

This film has received positive reviews. Aamir chose not to sell it to OTT platforms and plans to release it on YouTube in pay-per-view mode after eight weeks.

Sitaare Zameen Par follows coach Gulshan Arora, who trains a team of differently-abled players as part of his court-mandated redemption journey. The film explores his challenges and whether his team wins the National Championship.
