Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force Faces Drop on First Monday, Grosses ₹6 Crore
Akshay Kumar's Sky Force, which had a strong opening over the weekend, saw a significant drop in box office earnings on its first Monday. The film earned Rs 6.25 crore on Monday, bringing its total to Rs 68.50 crore.
After opening with Rs 12.25 crore on January 24, the film’s earnings grew over the weekend, with Rs 22 crore on Saturday and Rs 28 crore on Sunday, thanks to the Republic Day boost. However, Monday's figures reflected a sharp decline, with low occupancy across shows—6.01% in the morning, 10.63% in the afternoon, and 12.87% in the evening.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had earlier praised the film’s opening weekend, but the Monday drop was a setback for Sky Force, which had been expected to maintain its momentum. The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, depicts the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war and India's retaliatory airstrike on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase.
