L2 Empuraan Creates History with ₹22 Crore Opening!
Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s much-anticipated sequel, L2: Empuraan, hit theaters on March 27, emerging as the biggest Malayalam opener with a staggering ₹22 crore collection on Day 1, according to Sacnilk. The film recorded a 61.02% overall occupancy, with night shows witnessing the highest turnout at 66%.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh praised the film’s record-breaking performance across Kerala, calling it a "historic start" with packed theaters in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, and more. He predicted L2: Empuraan could redefine box office records for the Malayalam film industry.
Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and produced under Aashirvad Cinemas, Sree Gokulam Movies, and Lyca Productions, the film also stars Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and Indrajith Sukumaran. Prithviraj highlighted the film’s intricate narrative, which shifts across multiple timelines and locations, ensuring a gripping experience.
