Rajinikanth's Coolie had a strong opening week, breaking records as the fastest Tamil film to cross Rs 300 crore and achieving the highest Tamil movie opening. Collections slowed slightly in India after the extended weekend, but international markets like North America, Singapore, the UK, UAE, Ireland, and Malaysia remained strong.

The movie’s earnings over its second weekend will determine whether it surpasses the Rs 500 crore mark, with projections around Rs 480–490 crore (net) if the initial pace tapers.

Coolie is Rajinikanth’s third Rs 450 crore-plus grosser worldwide and leads among Tamil films in the Hindi market, outperforming War 2, which grossed around Rs 300 crore.
