No Salary for Ravi Teja? Producer Reveals Truth Behind the Sankranthi Film

Actor Ravi Teja did not accept any payment for his upcoming film. Producer Sudhakar Cherukuri confirmed that the actor completed the project without receiving even a single rupee as remuneration.

Popularly known as Mass Maharaja, Ravi Teja is starring in the movie Bhartha Mahasayulaku Appeal (Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi), which is directed by Kishore Tirumala. The film features Ashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayati as the female leads. Despite being the main star, Ravi Teja chose not to charge any fee for the film. According to producer Sudhakar Cherukuri, the actor agreed to work on a profit sharing basis instead of taking upfront payment.

Until now, Ravi Teja has not received any amount as remuneration for this project. The producer explained that there is a common perception that Ravi Teja prioritizes remuneration over the story, but this film clearly proves otherwise. The decision to take up the project was driven by the script and its strong appeal to festival audiences.

The film was specifically planned for a Sankranthi release, as it contains all the elements traditionally enjoyed by Sankranthi viewers. Ravi Teja agreed to do the film with the understanding that it would be released during the festive season. The producer stated that the film is arriving during Sankranthi amid tough competition, confident that its content will connect with audiences.

Ravi Teja is widely associated with mass and commercial entertainers, and he has played similar roles in recent times, though not all of them succeeded. For this film, director Kishore Tirumala crafted a story and character that align with his own creative sensibilities rather than following a formula. Ravi Teja was impressed with the character and agreed to be part of the project.

The movie clearly carries Kishore Tirumala’s signature style, which is evident from the teaser and songs. Ravi Teja will be seen in a refreshed appearance. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 13.
