Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1 Surpasses Megalopolis, Grosses $5.1 Million in US

Devara Part 1 earnings

Devara: Part 1, featuring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, earned $5.1 million in its opening week in the United States. Released worldwide on Friday, the film outperformed Francis Ford Coppola's highly anticipated Megalopolis, which garnered only $4 million in North America. While Megalopolis received mixed reviews and placed sixth at the box office, Devara: Part 1 excelled as a relatively smaller release.

In total, Megalopolis made $6.1 million globally, including $2.1 million from overseas markets. In contrast, Devara: Part 1 has already accumulated $33 million worldwide, far exceeding the $120 million budget of Coppola’s film. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1 tells the story of a man on a sea journey to protect his people and was made on a budget of approximately $35 million (Rs 300 crore). The film also features Saif Ali Khan, Shruti Marathe, and Prakash Raj in supporting roles, and premiered at the Beyond Fest in Los Angeles.
