In October 2018, the Bollywood horror film Tumbbad, centered around a treasure hunt, was initially released but did not gain significant recognition. However, after its popularity surged on OTT platforms, it was re-released nationwide in September 2024, attracting much anticipation from horror fans.

The film, which originally grossed 16 crores, astonishingly earned 32 crores during its re-release, surpassing collections of many star-studded films. This achievement makes Tumbbad the film with the highest earnings in a re-release in India. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and starring Sohum Shah, Tumbbad has also announced a sequel.
