The 71st National Film Awards are underway at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, with President Droupadi Murmu presenting the honours. Winners include Shah Rukh Khan (Jawan) and Vikrant Massey (12th Fail) for Best Actor, Rani Mukerji (Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway) for Best Actress, 12th Fail for Best Feature Film, and Kathal for Best Hindi Feature Film.

Regional winners: The Ray of Hope (Kannada), Bhagavanth Kesari (Telugu), Vaash (Gujarati), Parking (Tamil). Shilpa Rao (Chaleya) and PVNS Rohit (Baby) won Best Female and Male Playback Singer.

The Kerala Story was honored with awards for Best Director and Best Cinematography, celebrating its exceptional storytelling and visual artistry. Lifetime awards: Karan Johar and Mohanlal.

The awards, divided into Feature Films, Non-Feature Films, and Best Writing on Cinema, are evaluated by an independent jury. Winners receive Swarna Kamal (Rs 3,00,000) or Rajat Kamal (Rs 2,00,000).
