A massive blaze engulfed the Anupamaa set in Mumbai’s Film City early Friday morning, reducing it to ashes just hours before filming was set to begin. While no injuries were reported, the incident has raised alarm over ongoing fire safety failures in the industry.

In response, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called for criminal FIRs against the show's producers, top Film City authorities, and the Labour Commissioner, holding them accountable for negligence.

They also called for a judicial probe, safety audits across Maharashtra, and strict action against those bypassing fire norms. AICWA suspects possible insurance fraud and warns of potential casualty cover-ups.
