The much-anticipated sequel ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has encountered unexpected last-minute challenges ahead of its theatrical release, leaving fans disappointed, particularly in the southern markets.

The first installment, ‘Dhurandhar’, which released in December last year, achieved widespread success across the country. Following its strong theatrical run, the film also received an overwhelmingly positive response on OTT platforms. Building on this success, the makers swiftly prepared the sequel, scheduling its release for March 19.

However, just ahead of its premiere, unforeseen logistical issues have disrupted plans. Although premiere shows were scheduled to begin at 5 PM on March 18, reports indicate that the Telugu and Tamil versions of the film could not be delivered on time due to last-minute delays in print processing.

As a result, only the Hindi version of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will premiere as planned on Wednesday, while the Telugu and Tamil shows for the day have been cancelled. Ticket holders for the cancelled shows have reportedly been issued refunds. The Telugu version is now expected to begin screening from Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, director Aditya Dhar shared a heartfelt message with fans, expressing gratitude for the immense love received for the first film. He emphasized the importance of preserving the cinematic experience by avoiding spoilers and encouraged audiences to watch the film in theatres until the very end.

In his message, the director also hinted at future developments, suggesting that the story will continue with a third installment titled ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. He urged fans to immerse themselves fully in the film’s emotional and narrative journey and refrain from revealing key twists after viewing.

Despite the last-minute setback, expectations remain high for the sequel, with audiences eagerly awaiting its full-scale release across all languages.
