Dhurandhar 2 Teaser update, release date

Dhurandhar 2 Teaser Approved by CBFC, A Certificate, Release on Jan 23

An important update regarding the teaser of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has now emerged. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, 2026.

The first installment, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, released on December 5 last year and went on to become a major box-office success. The film received a strong response from audiences from its opening show and continued to perform well even weeks after its release. Reports indicate that the film grossed over Rs 100 crore worldwide, with overall collections touching approximately Rs 1300 crore. The ensemble cast also included Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and R. Madhavan in key roles.

During the climax of the first film, the makers officially announced the sequel, confirming that Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge would continue the story. The newly surfaced update confirms that the teaser of the sequel has been approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The teaser received an A certificate on January 19 and has a runtime of approximately 1 minute and 48 seconds.

Known for understanding audience expectations, Aditya Dhar has reportedly designed the teaser to be more intense and action-packed than the first film, without inviting negative feedback. The teaser is expected to feature large-scale action sequences and a darker tone.

Interestingly, the teaser of Dhurandhar 2 will be screened in theatres alongside Border 2, giving moviegoers an early glimpse either before the show or during the interval. Border 2 is set to release on Friday, January 23, making the teaser’s theatrical debut imminent.

The Dhurandhar franchise is inspired by real-life events involving intelligence agencies, set against the backdrop of the Kandahar hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. While the first film achieved massive commercial success, it also attracted some criticism for its portrayal of sensitive subjects.
