Did Krithi Shetty Walk Out of Her Bollywood Debut or Get Replaced?

In a surprising development, rising South Indian star Krithi Shetty has reportedly stepped away from her highly anticipated Bollywood debut. The Uppena actress, celebrated for her impactful performances in Telugu and Tamil films, is said to have opted out of the project that was supposed to mark her entry into Hindi cinema.

The film, backed by Zee Studios and directed by Sajid Khan, was designed as a double launch — introducing both Krithi and Yashvardhan Ahuja, the son of veteran Bollywood actor Govinda. The project was believed to be a remake of a successful South Indian film and also featured Laapataa Ladies fame Nitanshi Goel in a key role.

The combination of a promising cast and a major studio’s support had generated strong buzz within industry circles. However, Krithi’s abrupt departure has now forced the production team to reconsider their casting plans, putting the movie’s next phase temporarily on hold.

This marks the second setback for Krithi in her Hindi film career. She was earlier cast in the Hindi adaptation of Baby opposite Babil Khan, but that film was eventually dropped due to creative disagreements among the makers.

While the exact reason for Krithi’s latest exit hasn’t been confirmed, it appears that her transition into Bollywood continues to face challenges, despite high expectations from fans and filmmakers alike. Having made her Telugu debut with Uppena in 2021, Krithi remains one of the most talented young actresses in South Indian cinema.

Meanwhile, Yashvardhan Ahuja is still expected to proceed with his debut, as the team actively searches for a new female lead to take Krithi’s place in the upcoming film.
