Did Rekha Cause Kamal Haasan's Divorce?

In the late 1970s, Kamal Haasan’s then-wife Vani Ganapathy reportedly caught him with Rekha at Chennai’s Hotel Chola Sheraton, leading to a dramatic scene. At that time, Rekha was simultaneously filming Meendum Kokila alongside Kamal Haasan and Silsila with Amitabh Bachchan, sparking buzz both on and off-screen.

Following the incident, Rekha was allegedly replaced by actress Deepa in Meendum Kokila. Kamal later got involved with Sarika, who reportedly became pregnant before his 1988 divorce from Vani. That same year, he married Sarika.

Meanwhile, Rekha’s rumored relationship with Amitabh Bachchan continued to stir gossip, especially after Silsila.

Although Amitabh Bachchan tied the knot with Jaya Bhaduri in 1973, rumors surrounding his connection with Rekha continued to swirl for years. Director Ranjeet even claimed Rekha adjusted her film schedules for Amitabh.

Rekha briefly married Mukesh Agarwal in 1990; he died a year later.
