Drishyam 3 Hindi Version: Why Is Jaideep Ahlawat Replacing Akshaye Khanna?

The storyline for the third installment has already been developed by Ajay Devgn along with his creative team. Reports suggest that Jeethu Joseph has also given his approval to the narrative. Notably, this marks the first instance where a sequel is being produced with distinct storylines for different versions.

The third chapter of the Drishyam series, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is currently under production. Drishyam 3, with Mohanlal in the lead role, is expected to hit screens next year. In Bollywood, the project was initially planned with Ajay Devgn as the lead, but that version did not move forward as expected. As a result, the Hindi adaptation of Drishyam 3 is undergoing significant changes in its storyline. Ajay Devgn has already finalized a fresh script for the third part with his team, and sources indicate that Jeethu Joseph has approved it. This makes Drishyam 3 a rare sequel being told through two different narrative approaches.

Jaideep Ahlawat Rises After Pataal Lok

Meanwhile, a major casting change is on the cards. Akshaye Khannas role in Drishyam 3 is set to be reworked, with Jaideep Ahlawat stepping in to replace him. Jaideep, who gained massive recognition through the web series Pataal Lok, has been receiving back-to-back opportunities. He has also appeared in Family Man 3, where his performance drew strong reactions from audiences.

Jaideep will now take on the character previously associated with Akshaye Khanna in the third installment of the Drishyam franchise. Akshaye Khanna, on the other hand, recently tasted major success with Durandhar, where his role was widely appreciated. His experience continues to add depth to his performances, which is evident in films such as Chhava and Durandhar.

Developments Around Scene Three

At this stage, Akshayes departure from the third scene may not have a major impact. Jaideep Ahlawat already enjoys strong popularity due to his web series work, making this a promising opportunity for him. How these changes will influence the third part remains to be seen.

Drishyam 3 is also planned in Telugu, with Venkatesh set to headline that version. Director Jeethu Joseph initially intended to begin the Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi versions at the same time, but scheduling conflicts arose as Venkatesh was committed to a film with Trivikram. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn has begun pre-production activities for the Hindi version of Drishyam 3.

Once Venkatesh completes his current project, he is expected to take up Drishyam 3. However, the biggest question that still lingers is who will ultimately direct the Hindi version of the film.
