On what would have been Dharmendra’s 90th birthday, his daughter Esha Deol shared a touching tribute to honor her late father. Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89, just two weeks shy of this milestone. This marks Esha’s first public post since his passing.

In her message, Esha included joyful photographs capturing special moments with her father, some showing them together in tender moments.

She began her message with heartfelt words: “To my dearest Papa, the bond we share is eternal, transcending lifetimes and realms. We are inseparable, papa. Whether on earth or in heaven, we are one. For now, I hold you gently and lovingly within my heart, to keep you with me for the rest of this lifetime.”

Esha continued, recalling the cherished memories and the lessons her father imparted: “The magical memories, your guidance, love, warmth, dignity, and the strength you gave me as your daughter cannot be replaced. I miss you deeply, papa — your comforting hugs, your hands that spoke silently, your voice calling my name, our endless conversations, laughter, and shayaris. Your motto — ‘always be humble, be happy, healthy & strong’ — will always remain with me.”

She concluded with a promise to honor his legacy: “I will carry forward your legacy with pride and respect, and strive to share your love with millions who adore you as I do. I love you, papa. Your darling daughter, Esha, Your Bittu.”

Dharmendra’s Final Days

Dharmendra passed away at his Mumbai residence on November 24, following a hospital stay at Breach Candy Hospital from late October after experiencing breathlessness. During his hospitalization, some media outlets mistakenly reported his death. Esha quickly clarified: “The media seems to be spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request privacy. Thank you for your prayers.”

On the day of his passing, Esha paid her last respects at the crematorium. A prayer meeting in his memory took place three days later at a Mumbai hotel, while Hema Malini also hosted a remembrance gathering at her home.

Esha shared a close bond with her father. When she decided to separate from her ex-husband, Bharat Takhtani, Dharmendra had encouraged her to reconsider her decision, reflecting his caring nature.
