Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor emotionally recalled her mother Sridevi’s death, sharing the pain and humiliation her family faced. “There was a time when we weren’t even treated like humans. Some tried to throw mud at us. No one showed sympathy,” she said.

Sridevi passed away in Dubai in 2018. Janhvi, preparing for her debut Dhadak, said handling media events while grieving added immense pressure. “For some, it became gossip, even entertainment. If I laughed, it was wrong; if I was silent, they criticized me,” she added.

Continuing her mother’s legacy, Janhvi recently debuted with Param Sundari and is now working on Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (Oct 2) and the Telugu film Peddi with Ram Charan, releasing March 27, 2026.
