Mrunal Thakur's Brother Dhawal Faces Setback with Debut Web Series 'Tukra Ke Mera Pyaar'

Mrunal Thakur, who was introduced to Telugu audiences with the film Sita Ramam, has quickly gained recognition as a star heroine. She has carved a niche for herself in Telugu cinema and is also acting in Tamil and Hindi films. Her brother, Dhawal Thakur, has now made his acting debut. Not just in films, Dhawal also tested his luck with a web series titled Tukra Ke Mera Pyaar, which was presented to the Hindi-speaking audience.

Set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, the web series tells a love story between a poor young man and a girl from a wealthy family. The series tries to showcase what happens when these two people fall in love. This type of storyline has already been explored in many films, and the director was unable to bring anything new to the table. As a result, the web series failed to impress the audience, with reviews describing it as a routine and outdated love story. Consequently, the series failed to attract viewers.

Streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar, the web series couldn’t even connect with the youth audience. Viewers had hoped for romantic scenes and action sequences, which were missing from the series. This led to negative feedback. Overall, Dhawal Thakur, despite being a good-looking Bollywood hero, failed to make a strong debut due to poor script selection, making his first attempt a flop. However, he received positive marks for his acting, especially in emotional and love scenes, where he portrayed an innocent character. His co-star, Sanchita Basu, also caught attention, and her photos and videos are going viral on social media. The web series, directed by Shraddha Pasi Jairath, lacked innovation and failed to provide the commercial elements the audience expected. It was rejected, but Dhawal may come back with another project soon. Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur continues to shine with back-to-back films in both the South and North film industries. It remains to be seen whether Dhawal will find success like his sister. Critics believe that although Mrunal didn’t hit a success immediately after entering the industry, Dhawal may also have the potential to become a star if he keeps trying.
