Mumbai Court Issues Warrant for Malaika Arora in Saif Ali Khan’s Assault Case
A Mumbai court has reissued a bailable warrant for Malaika Arora after she failed to appear as a witness in a 2012 assault case involving her brother-in-law, Saif Ali Khan. The case stems from an altercation at a Colaba hotel where Saif, his brother-in-law Shaheel Ladak, and businessman Bilal Amrohi allegedly assaulted NRI businessman Iqbal Sharma over a noise dispute. Sharma claims Saif punched him, causing a nose fracture.
Malaika was summoned as a witness due to her presence at the dinner, but her absence has led to the court issuing a ₹5,000 warrant. The trial, which began in 2022, has seen testimonies from others, including Malaika’s sister Amrita Arora Ladak. The case includes charges against Khan, Ladak, and Amrohi for voluntarily causing grievous harm. Saif Ali Khan, who faces multiple charges, has denied all allegations. The trial continues, with public attention on the compliance of key witnesses like Malaika.
