The movie The Sabarmati Report, based on the Gujarat riots and the Godhra train burning incident, is set to be screened at the Parliament House complex today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will watch the film, and the screening will be held at the Bal Yogi Auditorium in the Parliament House complex at 4 PM on Monday. It is reported that several members, including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, will attend the screening.
On February 27, 2002, the Sabarmati Express train was scheduled to depart from the Godhra railway station in Gujarat to Ahmedabad when someone pulled the chain, causing the train to stop. Suddenly, stones were thrown at some of the coaches, and an assailant poured petrol on one of the bogies and set it on fire. As a result, 59 people in that coach were burned alive. The train was carrying pilgrims returning from Ayodhya. Director Dheeraj Sarna made The Sabarmati Report based on this incident.
The Sabarmati Report, featuring Vikrant Massey and Raashi Khanna in the lead roles, premiered for the public on November 15. Prime Minister Modi had already praised the film, emphasizing that fabricated narratives will only last for a limited time. He expressed happiness that facts are being brought to light in a way that is understandable to the general public.
