Pritish Nandy, renowned filmmaker, poet, and journalist, passed away at 73. His son, Kushan Nandy, confirmed the news on Wednesday. Nandy, known for his diverse career, founded Pritish Nandy Communications in 1993 and produced films like Chameli, Kaante, and Shaadi Ke Side Effects. He was also a respected journalist, serving as the managing editor of The Illustrated Weekly of India, and a former Rajya Sabha member.

The film industry mourned his loss, with actor Anupam Kher sharing a tribute on social media, calling Nandy a great mentor and a fearless individual. Kher fondly remembered their close bond and Nandy's significant influence on his early career. Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh also expressed condolences.
