Ranveer Singh Next Movie Pralay: Zombie Thriller, Story, Budget Updates

Ranveer Singh in upcoming film Pralay zombie thriller look

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is currently riding high on the massive success of his latest release Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which has created a significant impact at the global box office. The film has reportedly grossed over ?1,605 crore worldwide, emerging as one of the fastest films to cross the ?1,500 crore mark. With such a remarkable achievement, it has become the biggest hit of his career and set a new benchmark in Bollywood.

Following this blockbuster success, anticipation around Ranveer Singh’s next project has intensified. Reports now confirm that his upcoming film is titled ‘Pralay’, a project that is already generating strong buzz due to its unconventional concept.

There were earlier speculations that the film might be inspired by the novel Blindness. However, filmmaker Hansal Mehta has clarified that these claims are inaccurate. According to him, Pralay is based entirely on an original story and is not adapted from any book or previous film.

The film is being described as a big-budget zombie thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world, focusing on human survival in the aftermath of a catastrophic event. Director Jay Mehta has reportedly been developing this concept for a long time. Interestingly, Ranveer Singh himself is said to have initiated the collaboration after being impressed by the director’s earlier work.

The screenplay has been jointly developed by Jay Mehta and Vishal Kapoor, ensuring a completely original narrative. The makers are planning to deliver a visually immersive experience, aiming for a Hollywood-style cinematic scale. Special emphasis is being placed on world-building and audience immersion.

The film is expected to be made on a budget of approximately ?30 crore, with shooting scheduled to begin in mid-2026. Notably, Pralay will mark the directorial debut of Jay Mehta.

With this project, Ranveer Singh is set to explore a new genre in Indian cinema. Industry observers believe that if Pralay succeeds, it could open doors for more zombie and post-apocalyptic films in Bollywood. However, given the experimental nature of the genre, there is also ongoing debate about whether the film can match the phenomenal success of Dhurandhar 2.
