A resurfaced video from Rashmika Mandanna’s interview has reignited discussions around her film Sikandar, particularly her pairing with Salman Khan. The film struggled at the box office and faced criticism for its weak narrative and lack of chemistry between the lead actors.
In a conversation with Telugu journalist Prema, Rashmika revealed that the script she initially agreed to was significantly different from the final version. “When I first heard the script, it was truly not the same film. What happened later was completely different,” she said, referring to changes made during the course of production.
Rashmika explained that such shifts are common in filmmaking, citing factors like performances, editing choices, and release pressures. She noted that these changes altered the final outcome of Sikandar, a point that many viewers believe contributed to the film’s failure.
Following the resurfacing of the interview clips on social media platforms like Reddit, users shared mixed reactions. While some felt the film was beyond repair, others speculated that Rashmika’s role may have been reduced during editing. Several comments also pointed to excessive post-censor cuts and rushed execution as reasons for the film’s weak impact.
Directed by A. R. Murugadoss, Sikandar marked his return to Hindi cinema after nearly nine years. Despite a reported budget of Rs 200 crore, the film earned only Rs 185 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk, failing to connect with audiences.
