Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Identified Through Face Recognition Technology
In a significant development in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, a face recognition test confirmed that Mohammad Shariful Islam, the Bangladeshi national arrested in connection with the attack, was the man seen in CCTV footage of the building's staircase. The incident occurred on January 16 when Islam allegedly broke into Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence for a robbery. When confronted by Saif, Islam reportedly stabbed him multiple times before fleeing.
Islam, who had initially denied involvement, is facing charges following the identification in the face recognition test. Additionally, forensic analysis is being conducted on items linked to the crime, including the weapon and the accused's clothing. Despite requests for further police custody, the court ruled that there were no fresh grounds to extend it. The police continue to investigate how Islam entered India and the individuals who assisted him.
Saif Ali Khan underwent emergency surgery after the attack and was discharged from the hospital after five days.
