Saif Ali Khan's Attacker Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad Arrested, Granted 5-Day Police Custody

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked recently, and the police have arrested the main accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, who was involved in the assault. He was apprehended at 2:50 AM on Saturday in the Hiranandani area of Thane. The accused, originally from Bangladesh, had changed his name to Vijay Das and was living in the Thane region, according to the police.

After Shahzad's arrest, the police presented him in front of a court in Bandra. On Sunday, the court granted a 5-day police custody for the accused. The police then transferred him to the Bandra police station.

However, the defense lawyers for the accused stated that the police had not conducted a proper investigation into the case. They claimed there were no proper evidence to prove that Mohammad Shariful was from Bangladesh. The lawyers also denied claims that he had fled Bangladesh six months ago and entered India, asserting that these details were not accurate.
