Salman Khan's Upcoming War Film on Galwan Clash Now Titled 'Mathrubhumi'

Salman Khan Mathrubhumi Film Title Announcement

Bollywood star Salman Khan has officially announced that the title of his upcoming patriotic film “Battle of Galwan” has been changed to “Mathrubhumi.” The actor shared the update through his social media platforms, confirming the new title of the project. However, he did not disclose the reason behind the change.

The film is reportedly inspired by the 2020 India-China military clash in the Galwan Valley, a significant event in recent history. According to reports, Salman Khan will portray Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, an Indian Army officer from Suryapet in Telangana who played a crucial role during the conflict.

The movie is directed by Apoorva Lakhia, while actress Chitrangada Singh appears as the female lead. The teaser for the film was unveiled on Salman Khan’s birthday and received a strong response from audiences across the world.

Meanwhile, some Chinese media outlets have criticized the film, claiming it could misrepresent historical events. Reports suggest that China’s official media told the Global Times that producing such a film would not alter the historical narrative.

Despite the debate, the project has generated significant attention since the teaser release. The film, now titled “Mathrubhumi,” is expected to hit theatres in August.
