Sitaare Zameen Par boycott
Aamir Khan's latest film, which he both acted in and produced, marks his return after a long break. Directed by Tamil filmmaker RS Prasanna, the film is based on the Spanish movie Champions and features Genelia in a key role. Despite positive reviews and good box office performance, there are rising social media calls for a boycott.
These calls stem from Aamir’s past controversial comments, particularly regarding religion in the film PK. Some critics argue that instead of watching the film, people should donate to the poor, echoing sentiments Aamir once expressed. His silence during past India-Pakistan tensions also drew criticism, with some accusing him of lacking patriotism.
Though Aamir has condemned terrorism through his production house’s social media in the past, his absence from platforms and earlier remarks continue to spark backlash. While fans argue the boycott is unfair, others insist on it due to his history of controversial statements.
