Sohum Shah Hints at 'Tumbbad' Re-Release with New Trailer: 'Samay Phir Aa Gaya'

Originally released in 2018, Tumbbad has since garnered a dedicated following for its unique storyline. Sohum Shah, who stars in the lead role, has teased the re-release with a new trailer that has already received a positive response from fans eager to revisit the film's eerie atmosphere.

In his Instagram post about the trailer, Sohum Shah announced, Sacchai, acchai, burai aur lalach, har yug mein inhi ki kahaniyan dohrayee jaati hain, aisi hi ek kahani dohrane ka samay phir aa gaya hai. Reflecting on the film's production challenges, Sohum Shah shared with Bollywood Bubble that the crew faced significant hurdles. When we were making Tumbbad, the shoot ended in 2015. After that, there were just four people left in the office. Many thought the film would never be released and would end up shelved. I faced financial struggles, even selling my flat and car. We needed VFX from Sweden, but the team there was initially unresponsive and doubtful of our credibility. I even took a small team to meet them at the Cannes Film Festival to assure them of our sincerity. Despite the tough times, we persevered.

As reported by Bollywood Hungama, Tumbbad had a lifetime box office collection of Rs 13.57 crore, with an opening day earning of Rs 0.65 crore. Although its initial numbers were modest, there is hope that the re-release could surpass its previous box office records. Fans are optimistic that despite competing with Kareena Kapoor's The Buckingham Murders, Tumbbad will attract significant interest.
