Sunny Leone's Name in Chhattisgarh Government Scheme Scandal:
A shocking incident has come to light in a Chhattisgarh government scheme for married women. Under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, implemented by the BJP government, actress Sunny Leone allegedly received ₹1,000 per month directly credited to her account. This revelation has sparked a political uproar in the state, with opposition parties accusing the government of fund mismanagement and benefits being extended to ineligible individuals. The government has now ordered an investigation into the matter.
Details of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana and the Fraudulent Account:
The BJP government in Chhattisgarh has been transferring ₹1,000 monthly into the accounts of married women under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana aimed at women empowerment. It was discovered that a person named Virendra Joshi opened a bank account under the name Sunny Leone, listing her address in the Bastar region's Thulur area and her husband’s name as Johnny Sins. Since March, ₹1,000 has been deposited into this account every month.
Government Actions and Further Investigation:
Bastar District Collector Harris directed officials to seize the fraudulent account and recover the misappropriated amount from the accused.
