Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's Chhaava will be released simultaneously in India and Russia on February 14, 2025. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, faces controversy over a deleted dance.

Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s film Chhaava is making waves internationally as it is set for a simultaneous release in India and Russia on February 14, 2025. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the movie is expected to resonate with Bollywood fans in Russia, who have a strong affinity for emotional, dramatic, and musical films.
However, Chhaava recently faced controversy over a dance sequence depicting Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika Mandanna as Queen Yesubai. The scene, which showed the pair performing the Lezim dance, sparked backlash for its historical inaccuracies. As a result, the filmmakers, after meeting with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray, decided to remove the scene to avoid further offense.
Composed by AR Rahman, Chhaava also stars Diana Penty, Akshaye Khanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta.
