Maharashtra Minister Uday Samant has raised objections to a dance scene featuring Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Vicky Kaushal's upcoming film Chhaava. Samant has demanded the removal of the scene and suggested that the film be reviewed by historians and scholars. He warned that if objections are raised, the film's release could be blocked.

While Samant praised the film’s effort to depict the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, he emphasized that any "objectionable" content should be removed to avoid backlash. Earlier, Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, also expressed interest in viewing the film before its release to ensure historical accuracy.

Chhaava, set to release on February 14, 2025, is a historical drama about the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, and others.
