Vijay Sethupathi's 'Maharaja' Achieves Milestone, Set for Hindi Remake by Aamir Khan

Maharaja Hindi version with AmeerKhan

Vijay Sethupathi's 50th film, Maharaja, has made a significant impact. The film, which grossed Rs. 100 crores, has become the highest-grossing film of Sethupathi's career. Maharaja completed 50 days in theaters after its release and trended as India's No. 1 on Netflix for a week. With a budget of just Rs. 20 crores, the film achieved impressive success at the Tamil Nadu box office and also performed well in Telugu.

Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, Maharaja transformed a simple story into a compelling emotional drama with a gripping screenplay full of twists and turns. Now, Maharaja is set to make its debut in Bollywood. Aamir Khan, known for selecting unique stories and achieving hits, has acquired the Hindi rights for the film. Aamir’s previous film, Lal Singh Chaddha, did not meet expectations, and it remains to be seen whether Maharaja will follow the trend of recent Bollywood remakes or bring something new. Remakes have faced challenges in Bollywood recently, as evidenced by Akshay Kumar's remake of Tamil hero Surya's Akashame Nee Haddura, which was a major disappointment. Will Aamir Khan's Maharaja be a hit?
