Actor Imran Khan is set to return to the big screen in a full-fledged role with Adhure Hum Adhure Tum, marking his first lead appearance in over a decade. Although the film was earlier expected to premiere on Netflix, it was notably absent from the streamer’s recently announced 2026 content slate, unveiled at an event in Mumbai.
The film completed shooting more than six months ago, with expectations of a release announcement by late 2025 or early 2026. However, its omission from Netflix India’s upcoming lineup has raised questions about its release timeline. While Imran briefly appeared in a cameo role in Happy Patel, starring comedian Vir Das, Adhure Hum Adhure Tum continues to await an official release date.
Industry observers had anticipated the film’s inclusion in the “Next on Netflix India 2026” slate, which featured 29 titles across films and series. However, the project did not find a place in the announcement.
According to a report by Variety India, a member of the film’s team revealed that production was completed in July, with the final cut delivered by October. The delay reportedly stems from internal changes at Netflix, including the exit of the executive who initially approved the project. “There has been no official communication from Netflix regarding the release,” the source stated, adding that the film is unlikely to premiere before July due to post-production timelines.
Adhure Hum Adhure Tum reunites Imran Khan with director Danish Aslam, who previously collaborated with the actor on Break Ke Baad, co-starring Deepika Padukone. Described as a dysfunctional romantic comedy, the upcoming film also features Bhumi Pednekar and Gurfateh Pirzada in key roles.
