Malayalam film director P Balachandra Kumar, known for directing the Asif Ali-starrer Cowboy (2013), passed away due to kidney failure in a private hospital in Chengannur on Friday. He was 52 years old.
Balachandra Kumar, originally from Manakkootam, Thirupuram, Thiruvananthapuram, had been receiving treatment for kidney and heart issues for several years. His mortal remains were later moved to Thiruvananthapuram for the final rites.
Balachandra Kumar made headlines after his revelations regarding actor Dileep played a crucial role in the 2017 Kerala actor abduction and assault case. His disclosure that Dileep had a role in the assault and possessed a copy of the disturbing visuals significantly influenced the investigation, ultimately leading to the arrest of the accused, including Dileep.
