Malayalam Actor Bala Receives Conditional Bail in Defamation Case

Bala defamation case

Malayalam actor Bala has been granted conditional bail by the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate court after his arrest on October 14, stemming from a defamation complaint filed by his ex-wife, Amrutha Suresh. She accused Bala of defaming her and their daughter, Avantika, through social media and interviews.

Bala and his manager, Rajesh, were detained by Kadavanthra police in Kochi. The court has barred Bala from making statements about his ex-wife or daughter and requires him to be available for police questioning.

Amrutha's complaint detailed that Bala's online conduct and paid interviews caused distress to her and Avantika, their 12-year-old daughter. Bala faces charges under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, with the case registered on October 12.

The couple has had a troubled relationship, with prior allegations from Bala claiming that Amrutha hindered his access to their daughter. Both Amrutha and Avantika previously posted a video on Instagram discussing the difficulties they faced due to Bala's actions.

Bala is recognized in both the Malayalam and Tamil film industries for films like ‘Puthiya Mukham,’ ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen,’ ‘Pulimurugan,’ ‘Veeram,’ and ‘Lucifer.’
