Malayalam actor Dileep Shankar was found dead today in a hotel room in Thiruvananthapuram. The exact cause of his death is yet to be determined. According to local media reports, Dileep had been staying at the hotel since the 19th of this month.

During his stay at the hotel, it is reported that he never stepped out of his room. Even when his co-actors tried to contact him over the phone, he did not answer. Concerned about his well-being, they visited the hotel and requested the staff to open his room. Upon opening the door, they found Dileep deceased inside.

Dileep Shankar was reportedly in Thiruvananthapuram for the shooting of the television series Panchagni. According to the show's director, he had been battling severe health issues for some time, a detail conveyed to the police.
