Manikuttan is the latest addition to the L2: Empuraan cast, as revealed by the makers with the release of the 30th character poster. The actor, who previously voiced a character in Lucifer, now takes on a significant role, playing a character named after himself. Prithviraj Sukumaran shared the poster on Instagram, introducing Manikuttan’s role as "Mani."

In a video, Manikuttan recalled how Prithviraj had initially brought him on to dub for Lucifer due to his fluency in the Thiruvananthapuram dialect. He expressed excitement about stepping into an actual role for the Empuraan sequel after Prithviraj promised him a role if the film ever got a sequel. The actor also mentioned how he initially faced suggestions to change his name but is now playing a role under his real identity.

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan is the sequel to the successful Lucifer and is expected to offer an intense cinematic experience. The movie will hit theaters on March 27.
