Mohanlal's Barroz Movie Release Date Fix

Mohanlal has announced the release date of his directorial debut, Barroz, through Fazil, the director of his acting debut Manjil Virinja Pookkal (1980). The 3D fantasy film, in which Mohanlal plays the titular role, is set to release in theaters on December 25. In a video shared by Mohanlal on social media, Fazil mentioned that the actor-director had asked him to announce the release date of Barroz, which surprised him because it coincidentally falls on the same day as the releases of Manjil Virinja Pookkal and Manichitrathazhu. Fazil also revealed that even Mohanlal was unaware of this coincidence.

The release of Barroz has been postponed several times, including once after recent revelations in the Hema Committee Report. Antony Perumbavoor is producing the film under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner. The film also stars Kallirroi Tziafeta, Ignacio Mateos, and Cesar Lorente Raton. Touted as a 3D fantasy adventure, Barroz is based on Jijo Punnoose's novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure, with dialogues by Kalavoor Ravikumar.

The film features cinematography by Santosh Sivan, sound design by Jonathan Miller, production design by Santhosh Raman, and editing by B Ajithkumar. The music for Barroz is composed by Lydian Nadhaswaram, the young pianist who won the American television talent show The World’s Best, with background music by Hollywood composer Mark Kilian. Filmmaker TK Rajeev Kumar served as the creative head for Barroz.
