The sequel to the hit film Lucifer, L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, is set to be released on March 27 worldwide in five languages. Produced by Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas, the film is expected to break industry records. Despite the Telugu remake GodFather underperforming, anticipation for Empuraan is high.

Lucifer (2019) grossed Rs 127 Crore and featured actors like Vivek Oberoi and Kalabhavan Shajohn, who will return in Empuraan. The sequel continues the story of Stephen Nedumpally, now also Kureshi Ab'raam, navigating a dangerous world of power and revenge. Production began in 2023 after delays due to COVID-19.
