Kerala actress Navya Nair had a shocking experience in Australia. She traveled there for the Onam celebrations organized by the Malayali Association of Victoria. At Melbourne Airport, authorities discovered jasmine flowers in her bag and imposed a fine of Rs 1.14 lakh.

Navya explained that her father had bought the flowers for her, some of which she wore in her hair, and some were in her handbag. She said it was an honest mistake, unaware that it was against the law. The authorities instructed her to pay the fine within 28 days, and the incident has since attracted widespread attention.
