The film Shyam Singha Roy, starring Natural Star Nani and Box Office Queen Sai Pallavi, was released in December 2021 and became a massive hit at the box office. Set against the backdrop of Kolkata, the film became a special project in both Nani and Sai Pallavi’s careers, with their performances receiving critical acclaim. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the movie told an intense and powerful love story. However, during the shoot, Sai Pallavi was seen in tears.

In a recent interview celebrating the success of Amar Akbar Anthony, Sai Pallavi recalled the days of shooting for Shyam Singha Roy. She shared, “After the shoot on some days, I would feel immense joy. Most of my scenes were shot during the night, which wasn’t something I was accustomed to. Since I can’t sleep during the day, I struggled during the night shoots. Sometimes I had to stay awake until morning. This went on for about 30 days. Due to busy schedules, I would finish shooting for Shyam Singha Roy at night and then rush to another movie set the next morning.”

She continued, “One night, my sister came to visit me on set, and as we were talking, I suddenly burst into tears. I shared my frustration with her, saying that I wanted to work on films I had signed up for, but just wished I could have a day off. My sister immediately went to the producer, Venkat Boyanapalli, and told him, ‘My sister is crying, please give her at least one day off.’ He came to me and said, ‘Take not just one, but ten days off. Come back to shoot when you’re feeling better.’ That’s how I got some much-needed rest.”
