The controversy started after Vincy Aloshious posted an Instagram video expressing her unwillingness to work with co-actors who use narcotics. Without naming anyone, she described a disturbing on-set incident involving a male actor, allegedly under the influence, who misbehaved with her and another actress.

She mentioned inappropriate behavior, including offering to adjust her costume in public and exhaling a white powdery substance during rehearsals.

Shine Tom Chacko later issued a public apology to Vincy for his misconduct.
