Malayalam actor-producer Soubin Shahir is under investigation over a Rs 7 crore fraud claim by investor Siraj Valiyaveettil, despite Manjummel Boys earning Rs 240.5 crore.

Ernakulam Magistrate Court denied Soubin Shahir’s request to travel to Dubai for a September 5 award show, while co-producers Babu Shahir and Shawn Anthony were also questioned. Shahir remains on conditional bail after submitting his phone and all required documents.

Siraj claims he was promised a 40% profit share but received only Rs 5.99 crore. Producers say delays in his funding affected the shooting schedule.

Manjummel Boys was praised for its relatable story and humor, becoming a top Malayalam hit of 2024.
