Suresh Gopi's long-awaited 250th film, Ottakomban, officially began production on Friday with a traditional pooja ceremony at the Maha Ganapathi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. Produced by Sree Gokulam Movies, the project faced multiple delays, including a production halt due to the pandemic and a plagiarism lawsuit. Directed by Mathews Thomas and scripted by Shibin Francis, Ottakomban marks Suresh Gopi's return to acting after becoming the Minister of State for Tourism and Petroleum.

The emotional thriller stars Suresh Gopi as Kadavakkunnel Kuruvachan, inspired by a real-life figure and features an ensemble cast including Indrajith Sukumaran, Vijayaraghavan, Lalu Alex, and Meghana Raj. The technical team includes cinematographer Shaji Kumar, editor Vivek Harshan, and music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar. Shot across various locations in Kerala and Hong Kong, the film is produced on a grand scale with a massive budget. Bollywood actors will portray the female lead and antagonist.
